On Tour With The Cake Boss - Buddy Valastro

I’m bringing you Behind the Purple Door to experience a few days of media with Buddy Valastro (www.buddyvalastro.com).  November was an incredibly busy time for The Cake Boss – he launched his first book (which made the NYT best seller list), kicked off a 17 city tour, announced that he will expand the business with a new building in Hoboken so he can ship nationwide and much more.

Here’s a look at the press conference we held at Buddy’s new building at Lackawanna. Buddy gives a speech about the history of the building, Carlo’s Bakery and why he is proud to grow the business in Hoboken.

After the speech he unveiled a cake, which looks like the building – here’s a glimpse.

We handled the press strategy for Buddy’s book launch and tour.  In addition to appearing on national morning and talk shows in NYC and across the country, Buddy stopped by the crew at Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on Z-100.  Come inside the studio with Elvis, Danielle and Carolina while Buddy reveals a few secrets from his book. 

Next we went uptown to Times Square to shoot with Extra.

That night Buddy had his first show at Town Hall Theater in NYC.  They were sold out across the county – fans came to hear him talk about his family, how he became The Cake Boss, give cake decorating tips and much more.  Here’s what the stage and theater looked like right before the fans came in…

Now here’s a peek at what Buddy was doing on stage.

And finally, after 3 weeks on the road, Buddy ended in Newark, NJ at NJPAC – fans were out in full force.
